The Erasmus+ programme is the EU’s funding programme for education, training, youth and sport between 2014 and 2020.

Erasmus Mundus project HUMERIA 3rd call for applications is open!

Applying period: 16 October – 7 December 2015

HUMERIA offers granted mobilities for students and researchers between EU and ENPI countries (Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan).

Within 3rd Call of applications HUMERIA is offering scholarships for Doctoral students (PhD) and Post-Doctoral researchers from both EU and ENPI countries to carry out short-term mobilities in project’s partner universities. HUMERIA priority fields are humanities, education, research, international relations and arts, however other fields are eligible as well (all partner universities and possible fields of study are displayed on HUMERIA website).

Altogether HUMERIA is offering 15 scholarships at PhD-level and 7 scholarships at Post-Doctoral level. The duration of the mobility: short-term 6-months’ mobilities.
Within the 3rd Call of applications, all Doctoral students and Post-Doctoral researchers from Higher Education Institutions of both EU and ENPI countries are invited to apply!

Marie Sklodowska Curie Action open call for Individual Fellowships (215 million EUR)

The call covers postdocs moving within Europe (2 years of support), going from Europe to 3rd countries (3 years of support) or coming from 3rd countries to Europe (2 years of support).

The deadline for submission is 10 September and it is well worth applying as the success rate is about 15%. Results will be ready the week at the end of December for projects starting after Easter 2016.

ECTS users’ guide 2015

The European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) is a tool of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) for making studies and courses more transparent and thus helping to enhance the quality of higher education. The ECTS Users’ Guide offers guidelines for implementing ECTS and links to useful supporting documents. The Guide is offered to students and other learners, academic and administrative staff in higher education institutions as well as to employers, education providers and all other interested stakeholders.

Erasmus+ Master Loan Scheme launched with first bank in Spain

The first Erasmus+ loans for graduates taking their Master’s degree abroad are now available from MicroBank of Spain. Today the bank signed up to the Erasmus+ Master Loan Guarantee Scheme, funded by the European Commission and managed by the European Investment Fund. Under this first agreement MicroBank will provide up to €30 million worth of loans for students from Spain taking their Master degree in one of the 33 Erasmus+ Programme Countries, or students from other Erasmus+ countries going to Spain for a Master’s course.
The Erasmus+ Master Loan scheme is a new and ambitious initiative that represents a major step forwards for student mobility in Europe, with the aim of supporting the EU’s objective of 20% of its students being mobile by 2020.
Complementing the well-known credit mobility scheme for higher education students, Erasmus+ aims to help students in obtaining a Master’s degree in Erasmus+ participating countries spend time studying in an institution abroad.

First HERE study visit organised in Berlin

The Higher Education Reform Experts (HERE) study visit on “Institutional structures for the management of internationalisation and mobility” was organized by the SPHERE team in close cooperation with Technische Universität Berlin from 17 to 19 May 2015.

The aim of the seminar was to offer HEREs an opportunity to learn and discuss about institutional strategies and structures for internationalisation and mobility from universities in Berlin, with a special focus on TU Berlin. Participants were encouraged to discuss and explore different types of mobility and internationalisation approaches that universities are managing and better understand how they may be connected strategically and operationally. Presentations were also made on the German national framework for higher education internationalisation and related support funding and programmes. Around 30 participants from 17 EU Partner Countries attended the event.
Azerbaijan HEREs representative Ms. Jala Garibova has participated in this seminar.

EU-funded Erasmus+ Programme Calls for Proposals are open

Erasmus+ is the European Union’s programme for 2014-2020 to support projects, partnerships, events and mobility in the areas of education, training, youth and sport.

The budget earmarked for Erasmus+ in Education and Training is estimated at EUR 1536,5 million and Jean Monnet EUR 11,4 million.

Within the current call of Erasmus+ programme in higher education, Azerbaijanian higher education institutions get opportunity to create partnerships with institutions in EU member states and other countries, implement international students and teachers exchange, modernize academic curricula, enhance connections between universities and society and to promote ideas of united Europe etc.

The following Erasmus+ actions in higher education are open for participation of Higher Education Institutions from Azerbaijan as a Partner Country of the Programme:

  • Mobility of individuals in the field of education and training (as partners) – application deadline is March 4, 2015.
  • Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees (as partners)– application deadline is March 4, 2015.
  • Capacity building in the field of higher education(partners and applicants) – application deadline is February 10, 2015.
  • Jean Monnet actions (applicants and partners)– application deadline is February 26, 2015.
  • Knowledge Alliances – application deadline is February 26, 2015 and Strategic Partnership in the field of education, training and youth – application deadline is April 30, 2015 (as partners, only in case value added to the project is very well justified).
  • Mobility of individuals in the field of youth
  • Capacity building in the field of youth
  • Meeting between young people and decision-makers in the field of youth

 

Under the Lifelong Learning Programme, Key Activity 4 – Valorisation focused on the dissemination and effective exploitation of results of the LLP Programme.

In this context EACEA has produced a brochure providing a short overview of the objectives and description of Key Activity 4 and presents in more details 16 projects as examples of good practice.

The aim of the brochure is also to be a practical tool for projects and therefore provides the links to the main results of the projects approved during the period 2007-2011.
